Preserving The American Political Philosophy: How the Maine Legislature Robbed the Department of Corrections to Fund Industry Partnerships

Governor LePage is deploring the Maine State Department of Corrections for unsound fiscal management due to a shortfall of $2500000.00 but in 2013 the state depleted the Department of Corrections budget of almost as much in order to fund the state's latests business investment program called Industry Partnerships. My comment pointing this out is once again scrubbed from the Bangor Daily News but not before I took this screen shot.

Preserving The American Political Philosophy: 2013 Maine Municipalities Warned to Tighten their Belts as Seed Capital Tax Credit Expands Eightfold

This updated post connects the dots between what is categorized as "reductions in revenue" which means socialism for the bottom and tax payer funded capital for the top of Maine's economy with its ever shrinking middle class. It shows funds are extracted from normal state operations to finance work force training for teh state's corporate grid, which is unconstitutional pursuant to Article Iv Part Third Section 14 of the Maine Constitution. As the state concentrates more power and wealth in its own corporation, LePage is claiming necessity demands that he takes the rug of municipal revenue sharing out from under Maine's local governments.

Preserving The American Political Philosophy: 2013 Maine Municipalities Warned to Tighten their Belts as Seed Capital Tax Credit Expands Eightfold

This Post is largely taken from a time line I created of Maine state statutory history. It shows how in 2013 Governor Lepage of Maine started warning municipalities that they would have to tighten their belts because he was choosing to get rid of municipal revenue sharing to cover a $200 million budget gap. The same year the legislature passed an eight-fold increase in the Seed Capital Tax Credit which refunds up to 60% of private investments. In addition the legislature passed a bill to advance corporations tax credit for workers not yet hired and another bill to "temporarily" increase the sales tax. Now it is 2015 and Lepage's budget proposes eliminating municipal revenue sharing and increasing the sales tax, because he tells us, he is going to eliminate the income tax.

Preserving The American Political Philosophy: Discussion of LePage Budget Rages On Amid a Flurry Of Comments Being Scrubbed From The Net

This post which started out as a short story about the censorship of the voice of the governed in Maine politics, has been expanded to include further information and discussion about the budget proposed by the Lepage administration

Preserving The American Political Philosophy: Discussion of LePage Budget Rages On Amid a Flurry Of Comments Being Scrubbed From The Net

I wrote this blog about comments opposing the LePage budget being scrubbed from the internet. A few hours later I went to update it to find that my own blog post had been scrubbed from my own blog, but clearly not inadvertently through my own actions as the UPDATE function was still displaying. So I documented what was happening with screen shots and included them in my post about comments opposing Lepage's budget being scrubbed from the web- how post modern is that! Meanwhile it appears that my post no longer display on twitter using #mepolitcs and #maine. So much for free speech in the former state of Maine, which I contend has been transformed into the corporation of Maine through a series of statutory overwrites of the Maine State Constitution. So click and read while you can. If the link to the post says it does not exist try clicking on the HOME button- that seems to be more durable. And ask your self why my voice is so important to silence.

Preserving The American Political Philosophy: The Lepage Plan- Filled with Inconsistencies

Recently Governor Lepage of Maine has been sending out cues that he wants to eliminate the state income tax and replace it with a consumption tax (sales tax). Word has it that in his budget Lepage is radically expanding the sales tax while merely lowering the income tax. In this post I begin an analysis of the Lepage Budget starting with the section on Revenue Outlook and Forecast. http://goo.gl/dp9zpP

Preserving The American Political Philosophy: Koons & Hillary- The Joke is On You & it's China Laughing!

In 2012 International art rock star Jeff Koons was awarded the first United States Medal of Art by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. In the introductory speech Hillary tells the world that public-private relationships are at the core of what everything the United States does. Jeff Koons is the highest paid living artist in the world. Koons is also a minimalist artist who has reduced the content of his art to pure marketing. Should Hillary and Koons be surprised that when Koons delivered a speech to 1000 Chinese listeners that the response from the eternal international dialogue was to copy Koons work and produce and sell it for less? How does Koons's marketing art interact with the Maine art world?

Preserving The American Political Philosophy: Bait & Switch at The New England Foundation For The Arts

This Post has not been receiving much attention but it should, especially since you will not find this written about anywhere else but here- to my knowledge and this reveals what is clearly a willful attempt to mislead the very people that the New England Foundation For The Arts purports to serve- and every state art bureaucracy in New England partners with the New England Foundation For the Arts and through those agencies major streams of tax payer monies flow from the National Foundation For the Arts.

Preserving The American Political Philosophy: Why Two Terms Of Agreement on The New England Foundation For The Arts Website ?

In 2007 I found the New England Foundation For The Arts website and data base and went to sign up but when I looked at the Terms of Agreement I was shocked as it literally claimed rights over what was published through its services for all of eternity, everywhere with no exit .In addition it claims the right to change the work while insisting that the user forgo all rights to sue and any moral rights and more. Since then I have been off and on again corresponding with NEFA, only to be dismissed. Recently I learned that there are now two Terms of Agreement on the NEFA website.- one which displays when one registers and another- the one I have been protesting for seven years- in the footer- both claiming to be the ultimate authority-and both appearing at first to be identical, except for one subtle difference in the two paragraphs. This post includes some observations about the difference and thoughts on what it means and why.- from a layman's view.

Preserving The American Political Philosophy: Art World Entitlements

I engage in two interchanges on Maine Artist Facebook page, defending unpopular positions with an art world entitlement society, One discussion counters Maine art world rage over Maine's art world publishing empire transforming itself into a marketing venue for its own gallery enterprises. The other discussion encounters a lobbying effort to benefit artists functioning in non-profit venues. The interface of the two shows that the whole indeed is greater than the sum of its parts.

Preserving The American Political Philosophy: Christmas Banned at The University of Maine ( A Corporate Instrumentality of the State! )

WBAI reports that the Christmas decorations at the University of Maine were up a few days ago and have now all come down. An anonymous university "spokesperson" has issued a statement. The media cannot identify who issued the directive. In 1981 the Maine State legislature deemed the University of Maine to be a corporate instrumentality of the state. In 1995 the Maine legislature authorized itself to have jurisdiction over education at the University of Maine. Since about 2002 a minor in Marxist and Socialist Studied has been instituted at The University of Maine. In 2013 the Maine legislature sold a piece of the University of Maine to the Confucius Institute and passed a statute affirming Maine's friendship with Communist China declaring "shared values". Is the Maine State legislature also behind the banning of Christmas at the University of Maine?

Preserving The American Political Philosophy: Governor Longley's Architects Of Transformation

Added more to this post about the Architects of Maine s transformation from state functioning as a free enterprise system to a state centrally managed by a power elite and a deeply entrenched system of state corporation which is fundamentally repugnant to the Maine State Constitution. This post goes back to 1976 when Governor Longley brought in the heads of Maine industry to reinvent Maine's governing system. While the Governor and the Legislature had taken oaths of loyalty to the Maine Constitution, the heads of Industry had not. This powerful faction advised the heads of government to pass legislation allowing the tax system to be appropriated to the benefit of the profit motives of private investors.

Preserving The American Political Philosophy: Governor Longley's Architects Of Transformation

In 1976 Governor Longley Of Maine gathered together the leaders of Maine's industry to redesign the political governing system of Maine via economic development policy. Unlike the legislature and the Governor, the architects of Maine's transformation were not required to take an oath to uphold Maine's Constitution. The question is had the architects read the state constitution as they blatantly treated the rule of law, established by the consent of the governed, as a nuisance to their designs of a new centrally managed economy of Maine?

Preserving The American Political Philosophy: 1977 The Maine Capital Corporation - Seeding The Hegemony

A report procured from the Maine law Library dated 1976 and on the subject of chartering by a special act of legislation, The Maine Development Foundation Corporation reveals that contingent to that was another corporate charter by special act of legislation - that of the Maine Capital Corporation- chartered as a private corporation with special access to taxpayer money in the form of tax credits given to those who purchased stock in the Maine Capital Corporation

Preserving The American Political Philosophy: Fiscal Information Required by Maine Constitution to Accompany Bond Questions

Following up on the research I have been doing on the Maine constitutional requirements for bond ratification and statutes written by our legislature which make the constitutional requirements optional at best, - In this post I located the information in two very short paragraphs found on the Maine State Treasurer's report to the Maine legislature in February of 2014.
