Preserving The American Political Philosophy: Whose Been Filtering the #mepolitics Twitter Stream?

As the election draws closer, the Maine political class would very much like to control the talking points in the political debate. Yesterday the live stream on Twitter for #mepolitcs looked like the brotherhood of the Maine government and the Maine media. After tweeting the same thought, independents voices returned and I took screen shots of the live event as documentation.

     Preserving The American Political Philosophy

This is a post about the Seed Capital Tax Credit passed unanimously by Maine legislature. It provides that Maine Taxpayers will reimburse up to 60% of private capitalists investments while capitalist keeps all profits. I have found on numerous occasions that tweets referencing this blog post either do not display or vanish from #mepolitics- whereas they display on other hash tags included in the tweet. this does not surprise me since I have a long history of outside tampering with this blog which is a voice out side the Maine political class. This is how politics is done in Maine.

Preserving The American Political Philosophy: Maine Investment Fund Blog Artfully Parses Language to Occlude Role of The Maine Taxpayers.

The Maine Venture Fund (formerly The Small Enterprise Growth Fund) blog artfully parses language to occlude the role of the Maine tax payers as beast of burden and primary risk taker for high growth investors. A classic example of socializing risk and privatising gain.= all for "the public benefit" as so told by the Maine legislature and the Maine media.

Preserving The American Political Philosophy: Lets Be Polite - Election Talking Points Only and No Debate Please !

What happens when one challenges the meaning of a political class during election season (or ever) as I do here over the practical meaning of improving the lives of lower income workers versus the rhetoric about the same.

Preserving The American Political Philosophy: The Small Enterprise Growth Fund Re-named The Maine Venture Fund

I updated this post on the renaming of Maine's Small Enterprise Growth Fund to include a part about the maine State legislature's affirmation of Maine's friendship with China and reports on the increasing gap between the rich and the poor in China.

How is State Capitalism working out in Maine?

Under state capitalism cloaked in the language of quasi's and public-private relationships. the Maine State legislature accommodates the interests of state capitalism and/or it's chosen private beneficiaries by routinely rewriting the laws. When the state liquor contract laws were re-written to accommodate one company while making the incentives system of another bidder illegal, why was Governor Lepage so disappointed that there was only one bidder- the one for which the law was tailor made?

Preserving The American Political Philosophy: Both Political Parties in Maine Choose Global Capitalism Economics Over Environment !

I am not endorsing anyone but it makes me very upset when I see the environment being used in the cause of partisan politics, so in response to the partisan Maine League of Conservationists, I have posted this excerpt from the 2013 Maine legislative session from my statutory timeline showing that both political parties and independents place business interests above environmental interests and the public's interests:

Comparing New Hampshire and Maine as New Hampshire considers a Business Flat Tax and Maine digs deeper into a two tier taxation policy- One set of rules for businesses providing income above the median household income and another set of rules for business providing income at the median household level or below

Preserving The American Political Philosophy: Middle Class Data Missing In Action In the Advanced Age of Data Management

This posts asks why there is no ap to be found that visualizes the morphing of the 1950's bell curve representing the distribution of wealth in the USA from the start of the twentieth century to present? Why do we get only static representations showing the top & the bottom with the middle missing in action?

     Preserving The American Political Philosophy

New Hampshire shows true economic innovation among the states with a Business Flat Tax. With so many other states practicing special interest economics- with "opportunity zones" and "targeted sector" -creating a country in which the state controls the means of production- Could New Hampshire be heralding the way for the re-emergence of a genuine free enterprise system in the USA?

Preserving The American Political Philosophy: Rule of Law in Maine In Critical Condition

Maine government plays fast and loose, not only with the state Constitution, but with statutory Law as well. Examining the process by which the public debt for Maine Public Employee Retirement System came into being

Preserving The American Political Philosophy: In 1981 Maine Legislature Grants Itself The Authority to Centrally Manage Economy

In 1981 The Maine Legislature deemed itself the authority to centrally manage the Maine economy bypassing getting the consent of the governed. In the process they established a state municipal bond bank and granted it unlimited power. In the years since the legislature continued to construct a massive network of state corporations. Today managing the state corporations is seen as the primary function of the legislature's and administration by those in that position. Although all must take an oath to uphold the constitution, when asked about the Constitutional prohibition against the legislature chartering corporations, the usual answer is "Oh where does it say that ?" Only in the section on Legislative Powers!

     Preserving The American Political Philosophy

Blogger and activist, Mike Tipping, spins a yellow story of slander & intrigue in ruthless promotion of his crowd funding project, but the tides are turning on poor Mr Tippings and his ilk as those who read the Maine Constitution are given their "fair share" of Maine media to tell their side of the story.
